Summer 2022 Hair Colour Trends
Summer is in sight (yay!!!). Are you as excited as us?! With the season officially starting in just a few weeks (even though it technically has started now that Love Island is back on our screens!), it’s the perfect time to discuss the hair colour trends we think we will be seeing throughout Summer 2022…
When it comes to blonde hair there is always a specific shade that is trending. A few months ago it was “Mushroom Blonde”, then next it was all about “Platinum Blonde” but recently our attention has been on “Sunkissed Blonde”.
Sunkissed Blonde is quite simply a colour that looks like it was kissed by the sun, a solid base colour with hints of lighter shades of blonde (basically Vitamin D on extensions).
With Sunkissed Blonde already making an impact on our feeds, we expect this to get bigger and bigger with summer coming up… it's the perfect summer look! You may just be joining the list of people rocking this look this season including; Jessica Alba, Chrishell Stause and Lucinda Strafford.
50 Shades Of Red
Following the copper red shade that made an impact recently when Kendall Jenner styled the look beautifully back in March, we expect to see more and more shades of reds making a frequent appearance on our feeds over the next few months. Specifically, Glamour magazine has reported a 608% increase in searches around “copper” shades with “Honey strawberry blonde hair” seeing a spike in searches on Pinterest by 75.4%.
Also known as “off-black hair”, another popular colour expected for the summer from Glamour magazine is “Cassette Brunette”. This is very different from the lighter shades we have been discussing in this post but hairstylist and colour director Tom Smith expects this to be a hit for the summer following the likes of Olivia Rodrigo, Dua Lipa and Megan Fox sporting this trend. It is a popular look where we have seen natural mousey brunettes transform to this edgy and super pretty colour. So, could this be you?
We love, this look in action from @hairbyperrie_arkitec using the perfect combination of colours 1b and 2 to achieve this gorgeous look.
