Hair Colours We Expect To Trend In 2023
- Trends
With a new year, of course, we have done our seasonal research and highlighted the top 5 colours we think will be trending in 2023. From what seems to be a favourite for 2022 that we think will continue right through 2023 to some new ones in the mix, you can take some inspiration for your new year look…
1. Snowy White
Following the recent looks from the likes of Kim Kardashian, Snowy White is a shade that we think is bound to make a frequent appearance especially in the colder seasons of 2023.
Hairstylist and hair colourist Leland Olsen also explains to Womens Health Magazine that this striking shade is also sure to make an impact following the success of the TV show “House of the Dragon”. He continues by predicting that the look may even be trending in anticipation of the Barbie movie which is coming this year.
So maybe if you’re a fan of Kim, House of the Dragon, Barbie or all of the above, maybe Snowy White will be your new look.
We love this look created by @hairextensionsbydanielleyoung using colours 55 & 55/60
2. Mulled Wine
We expect this colour with a Christmas theme name (perfect for winter 2023) to make a frequent appearance on our feeds in the upcoming months.
This vibrant shade is also on Hair.com’s list as a colour they predict to trend in winter 2022/2023.
So, if you want to go vibrant for the year and stand out from the crowd, this colour may just be for you.
What better way to be on trend with this colour than with Remi Cachet’s 99J, just like @hairbychloemarsden, so stunning.
3. Honey Brown
A great option if you are already a brunette and want to add something different to your look for 2023, Honey Brown is a stunning mix of brown with pops of warm golden blonde shades throughout.
Cosmopolitan explains that this is also perfect if you “live for highlights in the summer. Don’t let the colder weather stop you…It’s just light enough to remind you that your hair doesn’t have to be dark just because it’s dark outside, but it’s warm enough to pair with any festive winter look.”
Sound perfect to you? Us too. Take some inspiration from this look @ambitious_lengths that is sure to persuade you to take the plunge with colour T4-8/613 …
4. Buttery Blonde
Also expected to make a statement in 2023 are “Buttery Blonde” shades. So, if you’re a blonde that wants to switch it up, this could be for you.
Talking to the online magazine, The Zoe Report, colourist Chase Kusero expects “2023 to hold an evolution of the bright, summer balayages that were so popular in 2022”
Explaining further “These buttery blonde tones are highlighted by darker bases, creating rich contrast and a warm, autumnal glow… because there are so many options, this look can work great for anyone.”
This look has already made a frequent appearance on our feed such as this beautiful look by @hairofdreams_ using colour 18/60.
5. Copper Red
We have said it before and we will say it again, Copper Red was THE hair colour of 2022. Featuring in many of our other journal posts, it’s making an appearance once again as it shows no signs of stopping this upcoming winter. So, if you have been debating the switch up to this gorgeous look, here is your sign (you can thank us later.)
It’s not only us who predict this to be a trending colour for winter, Glamour also expects this… “Red and copper hair, in all its different renditions is also having a moment”. Explaining to the magazine, colourist Nicola Clarke says "The right red can be enormously flattering… "I might use a soft colour glaze, a rich deep pigment or multi-dimensional tones to create the perfect colour to enhance someone’s skin tone."
One of our favourite Copper Red looks we have been tagged in is created by @bestextend who uses a mix of colours 30 and 33.
