What Are Pre-Bonded Hair Extensions?

If you’ve been thinking about hair extensions but you’re not sure where to start, Pre-Bonded hair extensions could be the perfect choice for you. But what exactly are they? And how do they differ from the other types at Additional Lengths? You may just be wondering. Well, at Additional Lengths, we always want you to be able to make the best choices for your hair, that’s why we’ve pulled together this guide containing everything you need to know about Pre-Bonded extensions, from the different types and aftercare required all the way through to the pros and cons.

What Are Pre-Bonded Hair Extensions?

At Additional Lengths, our ranges of Remi Cachet Pre-Bonded hair extensions are perfect for those who are wanting long-lasting extensions to add the show-stopping length and volume they have been dreaming about for their hair.

Our Pre-Bonded hair extensions come pre-tipped and ready for your stylist to fit them to the hair using either micro rings or glue for a seamless, natural finish.

What Are The Different Types Of Pre-Bonded Hair Extensions?

When it comes to finding your perfect match with Pre-Bonded hair extensions, you first need to take into consideration the hair range you are interested in.

We have a selection of Pre-Bonded hair extensions through our own brand with our "Euro Premium" hair which can last up to three months when you use the correct and recommended aftercare. In this range, we have Nail Tips and Stick Tips available for you.

“Elegance” and “Luxury” are the two ranges of hair from Remi Cachet available.  If you are set on one of these ranges then this will narrow down what your choices are from our Pre-Bonded types as some are only available in Elegance, some are only available in Luxury and some are available in both. Unsure where to start?

Check out our “What Remi Cachet Hair Extensions Should I Buy?” as this will give you some information on both Elegance and Luxury hair.

Overall, at Additional Lengths, we have a wide selection of types of Pre-Bonded hair extensions so you are sure to find the ones perfect for you…

Nano Tips are smaller and less detectable than most of the other ring methods we have available. The bond uses a small metal tip that allows the attachment of a Nano Ring that is coloured to match the root of the hair for a seamless and discreet blend.

Available in the Remi Cachet Elegance and Luxury ranges.

Stick Tips are perfect for a seamless blend of your natural hair. These are a method that is applied with either Silicone Rings or Micro Rings which are also colour matched to the root.

Available in Additional Lengths Euro Premium and Remi Cachet Luxury ranges.

How Long Do Pre-Bonded Hair Extensions Last?

As there are a number of ranges of hair you can choose for your Pre-Bonded hair extensions, what you use will influence the longevity of your hair extensions.

With our range of Euro Premium" you can expect to see which can last up to three months, Luxury hair around 9 months and Elegance hair around 12 months. Please note that this longevity is expected when you use the correct and recommended aftercare.

Regarding the longevity of the bond, this is where your maintenance appointments with your stylist are extremely important. This will allow them to examine your hair extensions and take any necessary next steps to ensure you are getting the most out of them. Our advice is that when it comes to permanent hair extensions, they should never be left in for longer than 4 months. It will be more than likely that your hair outlives the bonds so your stylist may need to complete a retipping service at your maintenance appointments, so ensure you always go to these!

How Are Pre-Bonded Hair Extensions Applied?

How Pre-Bonded Hair Extensions are applied will differ depending on the type you choose. For example, as discussed, Pro Tips are fitted with Ultra Locks®, whereas, Flat Tips require Italian Keratin Plus Bonds for application.

If you want to know more about the application methods that are available to you, your stylist can discuss this in greater detail for what’s best suited for your hair in your consultation.

How Are Pre-Bonded Hair Extensions Removed?

Similar to the application process, how Pre-Bonded extensions are removed will depend on the type of extension you go for. An important note is to always go to your stylist to have the extensions removed professionally and avoid any damage to your natural hair.

How Do I Look After My Pre-Bonded Hair Extensions?

Like with all hair extensions we sell at Additional Lengths, aftercare is key. So, make sure you check out our aftercare guide for all the information you need to know.

We always strongly recommend using Remi Cachet aftercare when wearing the brand’s extensions as this will help maintain their quality. From shampoo to hairbrushes and combs, Remi Cachet aftercare has everything you need.

What Are The Pros And Cons Of Pre- Bonded Hair Extensions?

Pros…

Longevity  - With the correct aftercare our pre-bonded extensions have the highest longevity before needing any retipping/removal etc.

Small and discreet - They offer you greater movement with your hair as opposed to the other extensions we have on offer. For example, you can create gorgeous updos with the small bonds concealed discreetly.

Easily customisable - Due to the individual stands in packs of 25, your stylist has the freedom to customise with a variety of colours to get the look you have been dreaming of.

Variety of types - The variety of types available to you ensures you are sure to find your perfect match

Cons…

Some types require heat - As mentioned, some of the types of pre-bonded hair extensions require heat which may be something you don’t want which then narrows down your options.
